The Portfolio in Focus (Portfólio em Foco) Open Call is one of the main axes of the PARATY IN FOCUS FESTIVAL (PEF). It aims to reveal emerging trends and talents. In the 2018 edition, the Open Call continues to count on

two categories, ESSAY and SINGLE IMAGE. In the ESSAY Category, cohesive sets of images composed of 6 to 10 photos will be accepted. In the SINGLE IMAGE Category, up to 4 photographs can be submitted, of which only one can be preselected.

The registration fee is R$ 90,00 (ninety Reais) per submission. Participants will be able to enter as many jobs as they want. The Open Call has a “FREE” Theme and is open to all kinds of photographic expression, be it abstract or figurative, documentary or artistic.  As an award, the Paraty in Focus Organization will hold a large Exhibition in the Historical Center of the City of Paraty with the top 10 in the Categories ESSAY and SINGLE IMAGE. In addition, the first three places of the two categories will be invited to participate in the Festival with all expenses of food and lodging covered, presenting their work in the series of Meetings and Interviews and gain a place in a Workshop of their choice.

The PEF Open Call is a way to open the Paraty in Focus Festival to the participation of all. The entries will be evaluated by a Pre-Selection Committee, formed by Érico Elias, Giancarlo Mecarelli, Jacqueline Hoofendy, JR Pedroza and Roberto Soares-Gomes. All pre-selected works will be posted on the PEF Website and on the Open Call page in Medium, as well as our Facebook page. They will go to the final evaluation of the Jury, composed by André Teixeira, Ângela Magalhães, Joaquim Paiva, Monica Zarattini, Nadja Peregrino, Pedro Karp Vasquez and Sérgio Branco.
